Parker Solar Probe was designed, built, and is now operated by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory as part of NASA’s Living with a Star (LWS) program (contract NNN06AA01C). As of 11 a.m. EDT on Sept. 6, Parker Solar Probe is 16.27 million miles from Earth, traveling at 45,860 miles per hour.
